Buy Once, Buy Well

Commission work is done in two stages;

1. Design Stage
We work with you to establish the design brief and requirements of the project.

How big? What are the functional requirements? What is your budget?

At the end of the design stage, we will deliver a design and a quote for production.

2. Making Stage
Once we have established the design & budget to your satisfaction, we commence building your piece, including installing if required.

How much does commissioning work cost?

This depends on many variables – mainly the complexity and time required to complete the piece. Fine craft is expensive, but we hope that our clients see the value in investing in heirloom pieces that are designed to be treasured for generations – Buy Once, Buy Well.

As a guide, our hourly rates are consistent with what you would expect to pay a builder or tradesperson. Even smaller projects will still take several days to build; larger & more complicated pieces can take weeks or months. Unique pieces will be more expensive than something of comparable function that is bought off-the-shelf, as each piece is being made for the first time.
